The Bush Family’s Working Vacation

Still stinging from accusations of inaction and incompetence in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, President Bush today announced that he and his extended family would finish his truncated five-week vacation in the “Big Easy”. Taking time out from his busy schedule of groveling and “taking responsibility” for what may be America’s greatest natural disaster, the chief executive is pictured here with his father, the former president George H.W. Bush enjoying a little sport fishing.

The Bush clan matriarch, Barbara, however, will not be joining the family; she is currently undergoing gin and tonic therapy at a clinic for the terminally insensitive.

"What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle) – this is working very well for them."
